File Menu - Open
Whenever you start up the program, the files that were opened the last time you used the program will be automatically opened so that you can continue right where you left off. The information on the last file you worked on is stored in the LEAGASST.INI file. This file is stored in the same directory (folder) on the hard drive as the program. If you want to open the data files for another league you will need to use this menu selection. The disk drive location and name of the files that you are currently working on is always displayed in the main program window after Data Files:

Open is the second selection on the File menu. It can be selected from the menu or by using the Ctrl-O hot key combination. When you select it you will be presented with a dialog box to select the name of the files to open. If files have been created in the selected drive and directory (folder), the names will appear in the list box. Click on the name of the file to open. If no files have been created, you need to start with the New menu selection and not the Open menu selection. Any files that are currently open will be saved before new files are opened. If you have selected Automatic Backup on the Option menu, currently open files will be backed up before new files are opened.

Data files created for the old DOS version of this program cannot be read into the Windows version.

If you had an older Windows version of the program the data files may need to be converted for compatibility with the current version. The program will perform the conversion if possible. If conversion is necessary it will probably make the files unusable with the older version. If you are trying a newer version of the program, you will want to make a backup of your data files before you try the new version. If you decide that want to upgrade to the new version, you can restore your backup and continue using your current version.
