File Menu - New
This is the first selection on the File menu. When this menu item is selected a dialog box will be displayed for you to fill out. If you have the automatic backup feature checked on the Option menu and you have data files open, a backup of the files will be created before you fill in the dialog box. Consult your Windows manual if you need instructions on working with dialog boxes.

Carefully inspect the dialog box and make sure that the drive and directory (folder) you want are selected. If they are not then change them to meet your requirements. If you are not sure what selections to make, simply accept the default settings that appear with the dialog box.

When you have set the drive and directory (folder) the way you want them, type a file name in the file name text box. This must be a legal  file name (consult your Windows manuals or an experienced friend if you are not sure how to name files). Long file names are supported by this program. You can add the DT0 extension to the end of the file name or leave it off. If you leave it off, the program will add it on. If you're not sure what name to enter, I suggest using MYLEAGUE.DT0

If files with this name already exist, you will be asked if you want to overwrite them. New files will not be created if you select no as an the answer.

You will then be presented with a dialog box to fill in general league parameters. The first parameter you select will be the type of league, that is Ten Pin, Duck Pin, Candle Pin, Five Pin or other sport. When you select the sport information specific to the sport is loaded into the program such as the highest possible score, number of games in a set, etc. If your sport is not listed you can click on the "New Sport" button to add your sport. When you have your sport information specified you can continue to create the data files for your league.

Consider your selections for each of the other general league parameters carefully since the only way to change some of these values later will be to start another new league. After you fill in this box, the new files will be created. You should then proceed to the Edit menu and begin filling in the rest of the details for your league starting with the Scoring Options.
